DURHAM, N.C.-  Freshman Karli Johonnot brings home first place in her first indoor pentathlon at the Penn State National meet Friday evening.  She finished with a total of 3802 points which is second on Duke's all-time list.  However, she was not alone in her record breaking performance.  Sophomore Miray Seward earned a personal record on the day and finished sixth overall with 3401 points.  This score is good enough to rank third on the all-time list.  Freshman Teddi Maslowski scored a total of 3249 points in her first indoor pentathlon which was good enough for ninth overall.

On the men's side, junior Curtis Beach finished day one of two in the heptathlon in second place with 3015 points and freshman Ian Rock has earned 2641 and is seventh place.  Tomorrow the men will compete in the 60 meter hurdles, pole vault, and the 1000 meter run.

Another group of Blue Devils went down the road to compete at The University of North Carolina.  This group also experienced success.  Freshman Henry Farley ran to second place in the 600 meter run in a time of 1:22.91.  Kyle Moran and Matt Marriott finished close behind in fifth and sixth place respectively.

Sophomore Lucas Talavan-Becker finished in second place in the 3000 meter run with a solid time of 8:33.62.  Freshman Alec Klassen and Junior Joseph Elskar finished in seventh and eighth respectively.
