Duke Record Falls On Final Day Of Penn Relays

Senior Liz Wort ran the third leg of the record-breaking 4x800 meter relay team in her final Penn Relays at Duke.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. --- The 113th Penn Relays wrapped up on Saturday in Philadelphia, Pa., with events being run all day at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.

The women’s 4x800 meter relay team of sophomore Michelle Seibert, freshman Kate Van Buskirk, senior Elizabeth Wort and freshman Emily Sherrard broke the school record with their time of 8:41.96. That mark also qualified them for the ECAC Championships and placed them ninth at the Penn Relays.

A Look Ahead: The Blue Devils will next compete as they host the annual Duke Twilight meet on Sun., May 6, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Wallace Wade Stadium.
