Nick Potter, originally from Buffalo, New York, joined the Blue Devil Athletic Medicine Staff in 2005 and is the Assistant Director of Athletic Rehabilitation at Duke University. Nick works directly with the Football and Men’s Basketball teams during their respective seasons. In addition to providing rehabilitation for Duke athletes, Nick administers pre-season biomechanical screening exams to develop individualized corrective exercise programs.
Potter entered his current position after earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Duke University in 2004 and completing the Sports Physical Therapy Fellowship at Duke Sports Medicine. Prior to his fellowship, he completed a combined orthopedic residency/manual therapy fellowship at Sports Medicine of Atlanta. Potter earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine with Emphasis in Athletic Training and Pre-Physical Therapy at Mercyhurst College in 2001.
Professionally, Nick has been published five different times throughout his career. Furthermore, he has had the opportunity to speak and present at conferences both nationally and internationally on different topics such as hip injuries in athletes and evidence based functional rehabilitations.
