DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke women's soccer team will look to knock off third-seeded Clemson for the third time this season when the Blue Devils take on the Tigers in the second round of the 2000 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament on Saturday, at 7 p.m. The game will be played at Riggs Field on the campus of Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina.

Duke advanced to the second round of play after beating Furman University 3-1 at Koskinen Stadium on Wednesday night. Sophomore Allison Sanders (Summerville, S.C.), sophomore Carly Fuller (Portland, Ore.), and senior Susan Kraeger (St. Louis, Mo.) netted goals for the Blue Devils, who improved to 14-7-1.

Clemson, who received a bye and No. 3 seed after posting a 17-2-1 overall record, will be meeting the Blue Devils for the third time this season. Duke posted a 1-0 victory over Clemson in Durham on Oct. 7 and then defeated the Tigers 1-0 on Nov. 3 in Durham in the semifinals of the 2000 ACC Women's Soccer Tournament.

"It's unfortunate that four ACC teams have to play each other in the second round," said Duke head coach Bill Hempen. "That is the way the tournament fell and we are looking forward to the opportunity to play."

Besides Duke and Clemson, four other ACC teams will be vying for a spot in the round of 16. Fifth-seeded North Carolina will host Wake Forest at Sunday at 1 p.m while Virginia hosts UNC-Greensboro Saturday at 7 p.m. and Florida State travels to Florida on Sunday at 2 p.m.
