Duke University will honor and immortalize 23 former men's and women's basketball players in creating a new Duke Basketball Hall of Honor in Cameron Indoor Stadium, Duke athletics director Joe Alleva announced Friday. The Hall will be opened with induction ceremonies for the charter group prior to Sunday's ACC opener against Clemson.

Eighteen former men's players and five women's players have all earned this unique distinction as the charter group to be inducted. The criteria for inclusion was that none of these players have had their jerseys retired at Duke while earning at least one of the following honors: National Player of the Year, National Defensive Player of the Year, All-America, multiple All-Conference selections, or Olympic Gold Medalist for the United States.
