Kyle Beatty, a native of Cambridge City, Indiana, joined the Duke University Athletic Medicine staff in July of 2008 and works primarily with the Blue Devil football program. Prior to joining the football athletic medicine staff, Kyle worked with the Duke baseball team for three years.
Kyle attended Franklin College in Indiana where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training in 2004. He then went on to serve as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Michigan State University, working with the baseball and wrestling teams, and received a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2006. Prior to working at Duke University, Beatty served as the athletic trainer for the baseball, men's soccer and women's lacrosse teams at the University of Richmond.
While being a part of the Duke Athletic Medicine staff, Kyle has worked with other members of the Duke Athletic Medicine staff in tracking cases of first metatarsophalangeal joint injuries in division 1 college athletes. In 2014, the case series was reviewed and published in Sports Health. Kyle also holds memberships to the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Collegiate Athletic Trainers' Society and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
