Dr. Jeff Bytomski serves as the head medical team physician for Duke Athletics.
In 2016, Bytomski was named the recipient of the Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Teaching by the Duke Family Medicine Residency Program. The Golden Apple Award is the most prestigious teaching honor presented by the medical school student body.
Bytomski arrived in Durham in 2001 and completed a fellowship in sports medicine with the Duke University Medical Center in 2002. In addition to his work at Duke, Bytomski has served as a member of the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) Mackey-White Mild Traumatic Brain Injury committee since 2009.
Bytomski is a 1993 graduate of San Diego State University. He completed his medical training at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998 and family medicine residency at the Phoenix Baptist Hospital in 2001.
