DURHAM, N.C.- The Duke women's soccer program has added one of its top recruiting classes under the direction of Head Coach Robbie Church. This spring GoDuke.com will be taking a closer look at each of the 2010 incoming freshmen.
First up is Mollie Pathman, who is a native of Durham, N.C., and attends Durham Academy. She is a 5-3 forward who is one of the top scorers in the nation. Pathman is already planning on studying medicine at Duke.
Blue Devil Head Coach Robbie Church on Pathman:
"Obviously, we're very excited to have Mollie join our program. She's another great versatile player. She's a left-sided player. She can play anywhere - she can play wide as an empty player at 4-4-2, she can play as a wing player in a 4-4-3, she can play up front as a forward. She's got a great, great service of the ball. She can beat players 1-v-1. She can score goals herself. She scored goals at all levels of her play. She's one of the top players in the country. She's, again, another one that connects passes. She's a great possession player. But she's got an extra gear - she's got athleticism - I think people really enjoy watching, especially on the attacking side of the ball."
