DURHAM, N.C. - Rising sophomore Brinson Paolini shot a three-over 283 to finish tied for 14th at the 57th Annual Sunnehanna Amateur at the par-70, 6,868-yard Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa.
The Virginia Beach, Va., native opened with a four-over 74 in the first round before bouncing back with a three-under 67 in the second. He closed with rounds of 71 to finish two shots outside the top 10.
Paolini, the ACC Freshman of the Year, set Duke freshman records for stroke average, under-par rounds and rounds in the 60s last season. He also registered four top 10 finished including a tie for fourth at the ACC Championship.
