2012: Projected starter at safety after making transition from wide receiver into the defensive backfield during spring drills ... aggressive player with a natural feel for the game ... showed glimpses of play-making ability during spring practice ... comfort level on defense will increase with game experience ... in 24 career games including 15 starting assignments as a wide receiver, caught 54 passes for 532 yards and one TD ... credited with 14 total tackles through two seasons ... has played 1,086 career snaps ... had five tackles and one QB pressure in the annual Spring Game.

Personal: Son of David and Shannon Braxton ... father lettered three seasons (1986-87-88) as a defensive end at Wake Forest, was selected in the second round (52nd overall pick) of the 1989 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings and played in 71 career games over six seasons with the Vikings (1989-90), Phoenix Cardinals (1990-93) and Cincinnati Bengals (1994) ... high school football teammate of fellow Blue Devil Braxton Deaver ... born December 28, 1991 ... double majoring in cultural anthropology and theater.
