DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke University women’s basketball National Player of the Year Lindsey Harding has been selected to the 2010 WNBA All-Defensive Second Team, which was voted on by the league’s 12 head coaches.
On the first team were Tamika Catching (Indiana), Angel McCoughtry (Atlanta), Sylvia Fowles (Chicago), Tanisha Wright (Seattle) and Cappie Pondexter (New York). Along with Harding on the second team were Lauren Jackson (Seattle), Rebekkah Brunson (Minnesota), Sancho Lyttle (Atlanta), Tully Bevalaqua (Indiana) and Katie Douglas (Indiana).
Harding, who is a 2007 Duke graduate, earned All-Defensive Team honors for the first time in her career as a member of the Washington Mystics. On the season, Harding started all 34 contests, while averaging 12.1 points, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 steals.
As a senior at Duke, Harding earned WBCA National Defensive Player of the Year honors along with ACC Defensive Player of the Year accolades.
The Mystics advanced to the first round of the playoffs, after notching a 22-12 overall record on the season.
