DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke freshmen tandem of Mollie Pathman and Laura Weinberg received Soccer America All-Freshman team accolades this week.  Pathman earned first team honors, while Weinberg was named to the second team as they led Duke to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 and an 11-8-4 record.

A product of Durham, N.C., Pathman came in as a freshman and had an immediate impact for the Blue Devils as she started 19 of her 20 matches played.  The 5-3 midfielder/forward registered eight goals, five assists and 21 points, which ranked second on the Duke squad.  Pathman's three multi-goal performances on the season was a team best.

With her 10 goals scored on the season, Weinberg matched the Duke single-season record for goals by a freshman.  A product of Boca Raton, Fla., Weinberg also notched two assists and 22 points on the season for the Blue Devils.   She scored two of her biggest goals of the year against eighth-ranked Boston College on Oct. 21 in a span of less than two minutes.  A 5-9 forward, Weinberg also notched a goal versus California in the NCAA Tournament first round and hit the game-tying tally against Florida during the regular season.

Both Weinberg and Pathman were also selected to the All-ACC Second Team, All-ACC Freshman and All-Rookie team honors this season.

Duke featured a very young lineup in 2010 and were able to knock off California and fifth-ranked Florida on penalty kicks to advance to the school's third NCAA Sweet 16 over the last four years.  Head Coach Robbie Church will return all 11 starters off his squad from this past season and will welcome in another talented freshman class to the mix in 2011.
