DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Former Blue Devil Jennie Lee earned her LPGA card for the second consecutive year, notching a career-best third-place finish over the weekend at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Lee posted a four-under 356 after five rounds of play at the tournament to finish third overall in the field of 138. The 2009 Duke graduate carded scores of 71, 71, 69, 73 and 72 on the par-72 course, with her three-under 69 good for the best score in the field during the third round. Over the final 18 holes, Lee tallied two birdies to close out the tournament with an even 72.
A native of Henderson, Nev., Lee is in her fifth year on the LPGA Tour. She earned Priority List Category 11 for the 2011 LPGA season with a tied for 14th-place showing at last year's qualifying tournament. For her career, Lee has also competed in four U.S. Women's Open Championships (2004, 2006-2008) and is a two-time member of the winning U.S. Curtis Cup team (2006, 2008).
While at Duke, Lee led the Blue Devils to two NCAA National Championships in 2006 and 2007.
