CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.-Duke University freshman Marcus Cain wrapped up competition for the Blue Devils wrestling squad at the 2012 Southern Scuffle Monday. Duke finished 19th of 23 teams with 19 points.

Cain advanced to the second day of competition after just missing out on a berth in the championship bracket semifinals. The rookie 149-pounder fell to Cornell's Christopher Villalonga in a 9-1 major decision. The loss was just Cain's fourth of the season.

Penn State took home the Southern Scuffle title for the second straight season with 191.5 points. Minnesota took second, while Missouri, Cornell and Oregon State rounded out the top five, respectively.

The Blue Devils open their dual match schedule Friday, Jan. 6 at The Citadel. ACC wrestling competition opens Jan. 9 at rival North Carolina.
