Cunha and Saba teamed up for their second straight doubles victory of the tournament from the No. 1 spot, edging William & Mary's Will Juggins and John Banks, 8-3. The Duke tandem leads all doubles pairs at the invitational with a total of eight points.
Sophomore Chris Mengel and senior David Holland needed less than 30 minutes to put away the Tribe's Zach Braig and Adrian Vodislav, as they did not drop a single point in their 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles. The Duke duo is now 2-0 in the tournament with four points overall in the doubles standings. On court two, senior Torsten Wietoska and freshman Raphael Hemmeler also rolled to an 8-0 victory, defeating Ben Hoogland and Jacob Braig for three more points.
In singles, Hemmeler raced out to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Zach Braig at the No. 6 position to lead the Blue Devils off the courts. The Duke rookie is now 6-6 on the season in fall singles action, and has earned seven points in the tournament standings. Meanwhile, seventh-ranked Cunha saw his first singles action of the tournament, defeating Hoogland, 6-1, 6-1 from the No. 1 spot to pick up eight points.
Senior Luke Marchese and Wietoska won their second consecutive singles matches of the tournament, with Marchese notching a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Jacob Braig in the No. 5 match. Wietoska earned six points with a 6-3, 6-2 defeat of Juggins on court three, giving him a total of 13 for the tournament.
After winning a hard-fought first set by a score of 7-5, Mengel took down Banks, 6-0, in the second frame of their No. 2 singles matchup. The victory moves Mengel to a team-high 15 points in the standings after two days of play. Rookie Jason Tahir closed out the day by edging Vodislav, 6-2, 6-2, from the No. 4 position.
Monday marks the final day of the Duke Invitational with Elon and William & Mary slated to square off at 9 a.m. in Duke's Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center. The 10th-ranked Blue Devils will then host No. 20 North Carolina in the final match of the tournament at 1 p.m. Live stats, live video and a live blog will be available for Duke's match against the Tar Heels.
