DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke men's golf team, ranked No. 16 in the latest Nike Golf / Golf World Coaches' Poll, travels to Wallace, N.C., April 6-7 to compete in the River Landing Intercollegiate. The Blue Devils are coming off a second place showing last weekend at the Irish Creek Collegiate and have now have four runner-up finishes and one team title on the season.

The tournament gets underway with 36 holes of golf on Friday at River Landing Golf Course (par 72, 6,901 yards) and will conclude with an 18 hole final round on Saturday. The 12-team field includes five ACC teams in Duke, Maryland, North Carolina, N.C. State and Virginia Tech as well as East Carolina, Jacksonville, Liberty, South Carolina, UNC Wilmington, Virginia Commonwealth and Winthrop.

Duke's lineup for the event will feature juniors Julian Suri, Brinson Paolini and Adam Sumrall as well as sophomores Austin Cody and Yaroslav Merkulov. Suri, Cody, Merkulov and Sumrall are each coming off top 20 finishes last weekend at the Irish Creek Collegiate. Senior Spencer Anderson, junior Tim Gornik and freshman Turner Southey-Gordon will compete as individuals at the River Landing Intercollegiate.

Suri is having an outstanding junior campaign, ranking second in the ACC with a 70.5 stroke average. He has five top 5 finishes, including a pair of medalist honors to go along with 15 under-par rounds of golf. The St. Augustine, Fla., native is rated No. 8 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and has posted a counting team score in 23 of 24 rounds played. Suri has finished in the top 5 of all three spring events and has shot even-par or better in eight of the last nine rounds.

Paolini ranks third on the team with a 72.7 stroke average. He was a pair of top 5 finishes and has shot even-par or better 14 times this season. Cody, coming off a tie for 12th finish at the Irish Creek Collegiate, has a 73.3 stroke average with seven under-par rounds.

Merkulov finished tied for seventh last weekend with a six-under 207 and is fifth on the team with a 73.7 stroke average, while Sumrall has a 74.0 stroke average with a tie for 20th finish at the Irish Creek Collegiate. He also carded a hole-in-one on the par 3, 186-yard third hole in the second round for Duke first ace since Suri carded a hole-in-one on No. 7 at CordeValle GC during the 2009 Gifford Collegiate.

Anderson has collected four top 20 finishes and seven under-par rounds in 2011-12. He is second on the team with a 72.4 stroke average. Gornik and Southey-Gordon each have 74.2 stroke averages on the year.

Duke won the 2009 River Landing Intercollegiate in its last appearance in the tournament. The Blue Devils posted a 14-under 850 to claim the team title at the River Course in Wallace, N.C. Anderson was the lone Duke player remaining on the roster that played in the 2009 event. He fired a six-over 222 with a low round of 70 to finish tied for 43rd.
