DURHAM, N.C. - Coming off of a pair of home victories against Clemson and Georgia Tech last weekend, the seventh-ranked Duke men's tennis team heads south this weekend to face No. 26 Florida State and No. 61 Miami. The Blue Devils visit Florida State Friday at 3 p.m. in Tallahassee before traveling to Miami on Sunday for a 12 p.m. matchup.

Duke (16-3, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) extended its win streak to three matches last weekend with a 7-0 sweep of Clemson and a 6-1 victory over Georgia Tech. Junior Henrique Cunha, ranked sixth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's latest singles poll, clinched the win over Clemson with a 6-4, 6-3 defeat of No. 66 Yannick Maden in the No. 1 singles contest. Cunha also topped No. 11 Kevin King of Georgia Tech in a thrilling super tiebreaker in Sunday's match, while sophomore Fred Saba clinched the Duke victory from the No. 4 position.

Cunha improved to 29-6 overall and 17-5 against ranked opponents with the two victories, while sophomore Chris Mengel, ranked 26th in the nation, is 26-8 on the year and 12-4 in the No. 2 slot. Senior Torsten Wietoska, listed at No. 106 in the singles rankings, has compiled an overall record of 21-6 and a 9-3 mark in the No. 3 position heading into this weekend's action.

The Blue Devils continue to roll in doubles play, having claimed the point in 15 of 19 matches on the season. The team has combined for a 14-4 ledger in ACC doubles play. The 26th-ranked tandem of Cunha and Mengel owns an overall record of 12-5 while going 5-1 at the No. 1 spot. Since making their debut as a duo in a 6-1 Duke victory over California on March 11, sophomore Cale Hammond and freshman Raphael Hemmeler have won seven consecutive matches.

Duke is tied for third with North Carolina in the current ACC standings, while Virginia and Florida State sit atop the standings with 7-0 records in league play.

Florida State (16-4, 7-0 ACC) is undefeated in conference play after edging Maryland in a 4-3 decision last Friday in College Park. The Seminoles are 12-1 this spring when playing at home with the only loss coming in a 6-1 setback to then-No. 25 Oklahoma on March 20. Jordan Kelly-Houston paces the squad with a 10-8 ledger in the top spot, while Kelly-Houston and Blake Davis have teamed for a 7-5 record at No. 1 doubles.

Winner of the last three matches between the two schools, Duke leads the overall series by a 24-11 margin. The Blue Devils defeated Florida State by a 4-3 margin in last season's meeting in Durham.

Miami (8-8, 1-6 ACC) will host No. 21 North Carolina on Friday before facing Duke on Sunday. The Hurricanes are coming off of two consecutive road losses to Boston College (5-2) and Maryland (4-3). Gabriel Flores has gone 6-9 in No. 1 singles play for Miami this spring, and the duo of Omar Aly and Wilfredo Gonzalez owns a ledger of 5-8 at the No. 1 spot in doubles.

Duke dropped the doubles point but posted victories on five of the six courts in singles to dispatch the Hurricanes by a 5-2 score in last season's matchup. Miami has a 22-16 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools, while the Blue Devils have won eight of the last 10 meetings.

Following this weekend's road matches, the Blue Devils return home to host rival North Carolina on Wednesday, Apr. 11 at 3 p.m.
