Duke enters the week with a 14-23 record. The Blue Devils went 1-3 last week, dropping a 4-3 decision to UNC Greensboro on Tuesday. Duke then won one of three games at Maryland over the weekend. Sophomore right-hander Robert Huber tossed his first career complete game to lead Duke to a 5-3 win over Maryland on Sunday. Huber had six strikeouts and just two walks on the day. Huber held the Terrapins to three runs on five hits in his complete game gem. Huber’s nine innings eclipsed his previous career high of seven innings pitched.
Duke is 6-14 at home this season.
Davidson enters the week with a 14-19 record. The Wildcats went 3-1 last week, losing its midweek game at Presbyterian. Davidson then swept Wofford over the weekend in Southern Conference action.
Duke is 105-29-1 all-time against Davidson. In their previous meeting this season, Duke freshman Nick Piscotty struck out a career-high seven batters and held Davidson to one hit in five shutout innings but the Wildcats scored twice in the seventh to defeat the Blue Devils 2-1 on March 27. The Blue Devils and Wildcats split the series last season, with both teams winning on their home fields. Duke won 7-5 in Durham on April 12, while Davidson won 9-7 in Davidson on April 27.

Duke (14-23, 6-12 ACC) will host Virginia (23-13-1, 9-9 ACC) this weekend at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Friday’s series-opener is set for a 6 p.m. start, Saturday’s game will begin at 2 p.m. and Sunday’s series finale will be at 1 p.m.
