DURHAM, N.C. - Duke Athletics stands in sixth place in the latest Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings (Winter III), released by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics today.

Overall, Duke has 849.50 points and ranks second among private institutions behind only Stanford (1st; 1,325.75). Three Atlantic Coast Conference schools are ranked in the top 10 – North Carolina (4th), Duke (6th) and Florida State (10th). On the strength of outstanding NCAA finishes by its women’s golf, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, men’s tennis and women’s tennis teams, Duke moved up 11 spots from the previous rankings (Final Winter).

The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's national finish in up to 20 sports -- 10 women’s and 10 men’s.

The next spring Division I standings will be released June 14. For a complete listing of the current standings, please go to the following link:
