Prior to Duke: Three-year letterman at South Mecklenburg under coach James Martin ... helped South Mecklenburg to consecutive state playoff appearances in 2010 and 2011 ... first team all-state pick by the Associated Press in 2011 ... graded out at 87 percent for senior campaign while serving as team captain ... first team All-Mecklenburg choice by the Charlotte Observer following senior season ... two-time All-Southwestern Conference selection ... helped North Carolina to a 26-19 win over South Carolina in the 75th annual Shrine Bowl on December 17, 2011 in Spartanburg, S.C.
