Jesse Moore begins his second season with the Duke swimming and diving coaching staff after joining the program as an assistant coach in the summer of 2012.

The 2012-13 campaign, Moore’s first with the program, saw four Duke student-athletes qualify for the NCAA Championships, with diver Nick McCrory capturing his third NCAA title on the platform and collecting All-America accolades across all three diving disciplines. McCrory was joined by Hunter Knight (100 and 200 breaststroke), Lauren Weaver (50 freestyle) and Christine Wixted (100 and 200 breaststroke) in earning All-ACC distinction.

Since arriving in Durham, Moore has also been key in the recruiting process, helping to sign a class of 24 incoming student-athletes for the 2013-14 season.

Moore came to Duke after previously spending two seasons at William & Mary, where he was a graduate assistant in the summer of 2010 before being promoted to the program’s assistant coach in the summer of 2011. At William & Mary, his responsibilities included overseeing the teams’ middle-distance and distance swimmers, in addition to assisting with recruiting and administrative duties.

During Moore’s tenure at William & Mary, the men’s team finished as high as third and the women fourth at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships. Under his direction, Tribe swimmers captured CAA titles in 10 events, broke 46 program records and turned in 17 NCAA provisional qualifying standards. Moore’s two seasons also saw the program have its first CAA Men’s Rookie of the Year honoree, first CAA Men’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year and its first U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier. In addition, both the men’s and women’s squads were named Scholastic All-American teams on multiple occasions.

Prior to his arrival in Williamsburg, Moore spent one season (2009-10) as the assistant coach at Drexel. During that time, the Dragons’ swimming & diving teams earned CAA championships in two events and had five student-athletes garner All-CAA recognition. The teams also broke 12 program records and had one individual post an NCAA provisional qualifying time. In addition, the men’s and women’s squads were named Academic All-American teams for the 2009-10 season.

Before being promoted to the role of assistant coach, Moore also served as the graduate assistant at Drexel for two seasons (2008-10).

A four-year member of the Tribe swimming & diving program, Moore graduated from William & Mary in 2008 with a degree in neuroscience. He went on to earn a master’s degree in Public Health from Drexel in 2010.

Moore is a member of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
