VANCOUVER, British Columbia - After seven appearances with the Short Season Single-A Vancouver Canadians, former Duke right-hander Marcus Stroman has been promoted to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats Wednesday.

Stroman wrapped up his time in Vancouver with a 1-0 record and 3.18 ERA in seven appearances, all out of the bullpen. The Medford, N.Y., native gave up four earned runs in 11.1 innings, however, they all came in his first 1.1 innings of work as Stroman ended his time in Vancouver with 10 straight scoreless innings. Over his final 5 appearances, he allowed just three hits, while striking out 13 and walking one.

The Toronto Blue Jays drafted Stroman with the 22nd overall pick in the 2012 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft on June 4. Stroman is the first player in Duke history chosen in the first round.
