DURHAM, N.C.-Duke University wrestling head coach Glen Lanham has announced the Blue Devils 2012-13 schedule. Duke will travel to seven states and take on opponents from five different conferences, including a pair of Big Ten opponents.

Duke's longest trip of the year will be to the prestigious Lone Star Duals in Dallas, Texas. The Blue Devils also will make trips to Michigan and Illinois for early season duals. Among the list of opponents for Duke are Northwestern and Indiana out of the Big 10, Eastern Michigan and Boston University as well as all of its ACC foes.

The Blue Devils will host four home matches, including against ACC rival North Carolina on Feb. 12. Overall, Duke will be taking on teams from the Big Ten, the MAC, the ACC, the Southern Conference and the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association. Ten of Duke's dual match opponents qualified at least one wrestler to NCAA Championships with Northwestern leading the way with a ninth-place showing in 2012.

Duke kicks off the season October 15 with its first official practice, while the first competition will be Nov. 4 at the Hokie Open in Blacksburg, Va. The Blue Devils will make their first trip to the state of Michigan the following week for the Michigan State Open Nov. 11. The Keystone Classic on Nov. 18 wraps up action for the month of November.

After a couple of weeks off, Duke will face its first dual with a pair of matches at Big 10 Northwestern. The Blue Devils and host Wildcats, which finished ninth last season at NCAA Championships, will battle at 7:30 p.m. (ET), while Duke and Stevens Tech will finish the day with a match at 9 p.m. (ET).

The Blue Devils close the calendar year on Dec. 16 at Eastern Michigan with duals against the host Eagles and Big 10 foe Indiana. Duke will be tested by the Hoosiers at 11 a.m., and finish the day with Eastern Michigan at 2 p.m. Indiana returns three NCAA qualifiers from a year ago and finished 10th among the 12 teams in the conference.

After the Southern Scuffle Jan. 1-2 in Chattanooga, Tenn., the Blue Devils open ACC competition against Virginia Tech on Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. The Hokies return a pair of All-Americans after posting their highest finish at NCAA Championships in school history.

Duke will head out of its region again on Jan. 12 for a chance to wrestle unfamiliar opponents at the Lone Star Duals before beginning the final stretch of the year with dual matches.

Duke travels to VMI and ACC foe Virginia, Jan. 19 and Jan. 20, respectively. The Blue Devils make their home debut Jan. 23 when they host Appalachian State at 7 p.m. Three days later Duke welcomes Boston University after beating the Terriers a year ago in Boston.

A trip to Gardner-Webb for a dual with the Bulldogs comes on Feb. 5 before Duke closes out its home slate with ACC power Maryland and ACC rival North Carolina, Feb. 9 and Feb. 12, respectively. The Blue Devils will be looking for wins against their ACC foes prior to the ACC Championships on March 9.

After a pair of non-conference duals at North Carolina on Feb. 17, Duke closes out its ACC schedule at NC State on Feb. 20. The regular season comes to a close Feb. 23 with the Franklin & Marshall duals in Lancaster, Pa.

Postseason action begins March 9 at the ACC Championships in College Park, Md. and concludes with the NCAA Championships March 21-23 in Des Moines, Iowa.
