DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke men's soccer team faces off against ACC foe Virginia this Friday night at klockner stadium in Charlottesville, Va.  Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.  Recently, GoDuke.com sat down with senior goalkeeper James Belshaw to learn more about the Nottingham, England native.

GoDuke.com: What has been your proudest moment at Duke
James Belshaw:
My proudest moment would have to be the Louisville game my sophomore year. We went a man down in about the 60th minute and we tied the game a few minutes after. I made a few decent saves and that is a memory that will stay with me from my career.

GoDuke.com: What is your favorite part of being a Duke student-athlete?
JB: The way you can combine the academics and the athletics. The athletics program is fantastic here. We have a great group of guys, not just on our team but in the whole athletic department. We are close as student-athletes. We have great facilities and it is the best place to be in the country by far.

GoDuke.com: What has been your favorite class at Duke?
JB: A tie between two, a sports performance class and a business of sports class. Both classes had fantastic professors.

GoDuke.com: What has been your most challenging class?
JB: I had a biology seminar freshman year. It was tough; it was not really that great. That was a struggle to get through, but I got through it with a decent grade.

GoDuke.com: Tell us about a time when you first started playing your sport.
JB: I first started playing when I was four or five years old. I found a local team back home in Nottingham. I played in the field a bit and played in goal. I eventually settled for playing in goal, went through the youth ranks back home and kind of took it from there.

GoDuke.com: Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
JB: Both of my parents. I can't remember a game back home in England where either my mom or dad was not there supporting me. My whole family has been great. My dad has helped keep me grounded, throughout the whole experience. He is someone who I can always talk to about anything.

GoDuke.com: What is your favorite midnight snack?
JB: That has to be a cook-out shake. I am a mint-vanilla kind of guy. I keep it simple but I change it up every now and then.

GoDuke.com: Do you have any hidden talents?
JB: I can speak French and German. I studied both of those throughout high school. I can also juggle.

GoDuke.com: What is the first thing you notice about people?
JB: Eyes and smile.

GoDuke.com: What kind of music do you have on your iPod?
JB: Absolutely everything. I have music that helps get me pumped for games. I have chill-out stuff too.
