DURHAM -- The Duke Athletic Leadership Program kicked off the year with a Grillin’ and Chilin’ event last night. SAAC Representatives, Mentors, and Advancing Leaders were invited to attend the event to “grill” and “chill”. Together, these leaders used their creativity and resourcefulness to see what their leadership skills and teamwork could cook up.
Student-athletes were split into groups and were each assigned their own grill. Together, groups decided the meal menu and split up responsibilities. Even if someone was not an “expert” chef, they could still help out their team by setting the table or help with food preparation. By the end of the night, everyone had a home cooked dinner and plenty of food.
This marks the third year for the Grillin’ and Chillin’ event. The event aims to start off the year with a fun activity for all of the Leadership Program participants.
