2012-13 (Freshman): Finished his freshman campaign with a 3-3 overall record in singles and a 2-3 mark in doubles … completed the season with a 1-0 singles and doubles record in ACC competition … with Fred Saba, clinched the doubles point from the No. 3 position in the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament against Coastal Carolina and UNCW, respectively … earned first collegiate singles victory against NCCU’s Thomas Persisco, 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 3 position … earned first ACC singles victory against Matt Wagner of Boston College, 6-3, 6-3, from the No. 5 position … with fellow Brazilian Henrique Cunha, earned first collegiate and ACC doubles victory against Philip Nelson and Michael McGinnis of Boston College, 8-4 … claimed first NCAA Tournament singles win at the No. 6 position against Coastal Carolina’s Hunter Whalen, 6-1, 6-2.
Prior to Duke: Rated the No. 2 freshman/newcomer by the ITA prior to the 2012-13 season…teamed with senior Henrique Cunha to win the doubles title at the Brazil F 13 Futures tournament in June…has achieved an ATP World Tour ranking of 714 in singles and 612 in doubles …competed in all four grand slams in juniors, reaching the quarterfinals in the doubles draw at the US Open and the Australian Open … has captured two professional doubles titles in Futures events … while competing as an amateur, has reached the quarterfinals or better in six professional Futures events.
