DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University golfers Celine Boutier and Alejandra Cangrejo will represent their native countries this week as they play in the World Team Amateur Championship at the Gloria Golf Club (Old and New Courses) in Antalya, Turkey from Sept. 27-30.

Boutier will represent France, while Cangrejo will play for Colombia during the championship.  The four-day event features teams of two or three golfers, who each play 18 holes of stroke play over four days. In each round, the total of the two lowest scores from each team constitutes the team score for the round. The four-day (72-hole) total is the team’s score for the championship.

A product of Montrouge, France, Boutier, is coming off a tied for 25th place finish in her collegiate debut at the Cougar Classic earlier this month.  The 5-4 freshman is a very accomplished international golfer.  She won the European Ladies Amateur with a 16-under-par ledger over the summer, while finishing second in qualifying at the Ladies British Open Amateur.

Cangrejo, who is from Bogota, Colombia, is a two-time letterwinner with the Blue Devils with eight career top 20 finishes.  She competed in the North & South Women’s Amateur over the summer and advanced to the semifinals.

Live scoring will be available via www.Golfstat.com.

The Duke duo will not miss any events with the Blue Devil women’s golf team as the next tournament is slated for Oct. 5-7 at the NCAA Fall Preview in Athens, Ga.
