Men's Soccer Reaches Out to Local Middle School

DURHAM, N.C.-The Duke University men's soccer team took time out of its busy schedule last week to meet and spend time with young players from Neal Middle School in Durham, N.C. The group of young students experienced some of practice and attended the North Carolina game.

The students from Neal Middle School came out to watch the Blue Devils practice this past Thursday morning, seeing what a high level Division I practice is like. Players stuck around to sign autographs and play soccer with the students as well as teaching them some more soccer skills.

The following evening the group, through the generosity of the Duke program, the students had a great time attending the thrilling Duke-North Carolina rivalry game. They got Blue Devil Army scarves and despite the weather enjoyed every moment of the game.

Duke will continue its community outreach efforts in the coming weeks with various organizations and schools in the area.

The Blue Devils are back in action Friday at ACC foe NC State at 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised live by Raycom Sports Network.
