Gundry Competes on Platform at Junior Worlds

ADELAIDE, Australia - Freshman Jaimee Gundry competed against some of the world's top junior divers Thursday at the FINA Junior World Diving Championships in Adelaide, Australia.

The Blue Devil rookie, who hails from Lightwater, Surrey in Great Britain, represented her native country of South Africa in the girls platform 'A' competition. Gundry finished 19th overall in the preliminaries, totaling a score of 331.85 on her list of eight dives. Her highest-scoring dive came in the sixth round, when she earned 58.50 points on a forward dive with 3 ½ somersaults. Gundry's final dive, a back 2 ½ somersaults with 1 ½ twists for a 3.2 degree of difficulty, also received high marks from the judges for a score of 52.80.
