GoDuke.com: What has been your proudest moment at Duke?
Cara Vogel: "Being on relays at ACCs."
GoDuke.com: What is the most misunderstood thing about swimming?
CV: "How hard we train. I think that people underestimate the amount of hours and all the work that goes into swimming."
GoDuke.com: What has been your favorite part about being a Duke student-athlete?
CV: "The swimming and diving family. It's really a support system away from home."
GoDuke.com: What has been your favorite class at Duke?
CV: "My theater studies seminar my freshman year. I took it with a few swimmers and my roommate from freshman year. It was kind of like playing games the whole time."
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite spot on campus?
CV: "The [Duke] Gardens. I don't get there enough, but it's nice to lay out there."
GoDuke.com: Are there any words of wisdom you'd like to pass along to freshmen and future Blue Devils?
CV: "Cherish every moment because it flies by."
GoDuke.com: When did you first start swimming?
CV: "I got into swimming because my sister was a swimmer. I've just been doing it my whole life. I started when I was five and didn't look back."
GoDuke.com: If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
CV: "My sister's been my mentor - she's been a good one. We've kind of had similar paths with swimming and both being civil engineers. We have a close relationship and we're always there for each other."
GoDuke.com: If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
CV: "Travel someplace cool. I've never really been to any foreign countries. I'd like to go to Australia or Europe."
GoDuke.com: If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
CV: "To transport myself so I can be anywhere I want. I would transport myself to a beach in the Caribbean."
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite midnight snack?
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite restaurant in Durham?
CV: "Tobacco Road."
