DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University junior Tricia Liston earned the Ronald McDonald House Charities Duke Student-Athlete of the Week, after leading the fifth-ranked Blue Devil women’s basketball team three victories this past week.

Liston came off the bench on Sunday against Wake Forest and turned in the best game of her career by scoring a career-high 29 points, after starting point guard and All-America Chelsea Gray went down with a knee injury.  A product of River Forest, Ill., Liston scored nine of Duke’s final 13 points to lead the Blue Devils to the 81-70 victory over the Demon Deacons.  With Duke leading 69-67 with 3:07 left, she drained her fifth three-pointer of the day to put the game out of reach.

The 6-1 guard earned the espnW National Player of the Week on Monday for her efforts. 

In the contest, Liston also pulled down nine rebounds, hit a career-high 8-of-9 free throws and her five three-pointers made tied a career high.  She scored 21 of her 29 points in the second half.  Liston entered the week ranking third nationally in three-point field goal percentage.

Duke registered a 3-0 record on the week with other victories over seventh-ranked Maryland and a road win at Virginia Tech.  Liston averaged 18.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists.  She hit 8-of-13 three-pointers for a 61.5 percentage.  On Monday against No. 7 Maryland, Liston scored 17 points, had six rebounds and two steals as Duke took down the Terrapins, 71-56.

Liston and the Blue Devils improved to 24-1 overall and 14-0 in the ACC to maintain a two-game lead in the league.  Duke has now won an ACC-record 37 straight ACC games in historic Cameron Indoor Stadium. 

The Blue Devils will next host 19th-ranked Florida State on Friday, Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m.  The game will be aired live on RSN-TV.
