To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career. Duke led all ACC institutions with eight selections, while Florida State followed with seven. Boston College, North Carolina, Virginia, Wake Forest each had four honorees apiece.
Campbell, who is out of Cincinnati, Ohio, earned honors for the fourth straight year after totaling three shutouts, 53 saves and a 1.13 goals-against average in 2012. A Civil Engineering major, Campbell concluded her career ranking second at Duke in saves (302), goals-against average (0.91) and third in shutouts (30). She became the first four-time member of the All-ACC academic team for Duke.
Earning All-ACC Academic Team honors for the third straight year were Haller, Kerr, Pathman and Weinberg.
A product of South Salem, N.Y., Haller played in all 23 matches, while starting 15 games on the defensive end for the Blue Devils. Haller helped lead Duke to six shutouts on the season. She is majoring in History and African American Studies.
A 2011 NSCAA Third Team All-America, Kerr notched eight goals, seven assists and 23 points this past season at the midfield position. The 5-5 junior was a third team All-Southeast Region selection in 2012 for her efforts. A native of Bensalem, Pa., Kerr is majoring in Psychology.
Pathman, who is a product of Durham, N.C., missed the first seven games of the season while representing the United States at the U-20 World Cup in Japan. After joining the team in September, Pathman started 14-of-16 matches and assisted on six goals. Her lone goal scored was the game-winner against second-ranked Virginia in the NCAA Tournament. Pathman is majoring in Psychology along with a Markets and Management certificate.
A native of Boca Raton, Fla., Weinberg registered a school-record 44 points in 2012 as she scored 16 goals and assisted on 12 others for the Blue Devils. She notched four multi-goal games and posted five game-winning goals on the season. Weinberg is majoring in Sociology and History along with a Markets and Management certificate.
DeCesare moved to the forward position in 2012 and flourished with a career-high 16 goals to go along with six assists and 38 points. She was a second team All-ACC selection and set a Duke single-season record for most multi-goal games with five. A native of Massapequa Park, N.Y., DeCesare is majoring in Evolutionary Anthropology and Sociology.
For the first time in her career, Koballa earned All-ACC Academic team accolades. A four-year starter on the defensive end, Koballa played in 93 career games and made 89 starts over her career. She helped lead Duke to a total of 41 shutouts in four years. Koballa, who is out of Wilmington, N.C., is majoring in Psychology.
Pecht, a product of Mechanicsville, Pa., is coming off a standout season as a rookie for the Blue Devils. She tallied an NCAA-best 15 assists on the season on her way to being named the National Freshman of the Year and ACC Rookie of the Year. The midfielder/forward added six goals and 27 points.
As a team, Duke advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight for the fourth time out of the last six years before falling, 1-0, at top-seeded Penn State. The Blue Devils posted a 15-6-2 overall record on the year.
