DURHAM, N.C. - Duke senior Seth Curry was named to the Sporting News All-America second team, the publication announced Monday.

Curry, a 6-1 guard from Charlotte, N.C., has helped guide No. 2 Duke to a 27-4 overall record and a 14-4 mark in the ACC, good enough for a second-place league finish. He ranks third in the ACC with 17.1 points per game and a .435 three-point shooting percentage, second with 2.7 made three-pointers per game and fifth with a .810 free throw percentage. He has scored at least 20 points in 16 games this season, including 11 of Duke's 18 ACC contests.

Curry is the 38th Duke player to earn All-America honors and the 35th under head coach Mike Krzyzewski, which is tops among active coaches. Duke has had at least one All-America selection in six consecutive seasons and in 14 of the past 15 years.

Also a two-time All-ACC selection, Curry has started 30 games for the Blue Devils this season and recently scored his 1,000th point at Duke and 2,000th point in college. He and his brother Stephen - a two-time All-America at Davidson in 2008 and 2009 - form the highest scoring brother tandem in NCAA history with a combined 4,637 points.

Curry and the Blue Devils begin play in the ACC Tournament on Friday, March 15, at 7 p.m. against the winner of seventh-seeded Maryland and 10th-seeded Wake Forest at Greensboro Coliseum.
