Blue Devils Listed at No. 2 in ITA Poll

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women’s tennis team was listed at No. 2 in the country in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll for the third consecutive week as announced by the organization Tuesday. The Blue Devils have tallied a 9-2 record on the season, the sixth consecutive campaign the squad has started with a 9-2 or better record.

North Carolina was listed as the top team in the country, while Duke, Texas A&M, Florida and UCLA round out the top-five in the poll. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and Southeastern Conference (SEC) lead the way with six teams ranked in the top-25, while the Pacific-12 (PAC-12) follows close behind with five. In addition to North Carolina and Duke, Miami (No. 11), Clemson (No. 14), Florida State (No. 22) and Georgia Tech (No. 25) represent the ACC in the top-25.

The Blue Devils also have five players listed in the singles rankings, led by junior Hanna Mar at No. 16. Mar, a native of Burr Ridge, Ill., has recorded a 4-2 record this season in dual matches while playing in the top-spot for Duke. Sophomore Ester Goldfeld is ranked 35th in the poll, while junior Marianne Jodoin comes in at No. 84. Following close behind is senior Mary Clayton, who was tabbed in the 88th spot, and sophomore Monica Turewicz, who is listed at No. 119.

Duke also has three doubles tandems ranked in the top-60 in the country, highlighted by the duo of Clayton and Goldfeld at No. 11. Goldfeld and Mar were listed as the 35th double pair in the country, while Mulholland and Goldfeld come in at No. 51.

Duke is set to take to continue their spring slate against 60th-ranked Indiana at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15th in Las Vegas, Nev.
