DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke players are continuing to have fantastic seasons this year in the NBA. Luol Deng and Carlos Boozer continue to lead the Bulls despite the absence of Derrick Rose. In Charlotte, Gerald Henderson has continued his superb play, scoring a career-high 35 points to lead the Bobcats past the Celtics in a recent game, while Josh McRoberts has had success since being acquired by the Bobcats.

Shane Battier
Forward - Miami Heat
Drafted: 1st Round (6th pick) by the Memphis Grizzlies (2001)
2012-13 Stats: 60 games, 6.5 PPG, 2.3 RPG, 0.9 APG, 0.5 SPG, 0.7 BPG

Battier continues to play an important role for the Heat this season, as the Heat are on their impressive 23 game winning streak. In a 102-93 win over the 76ers March 8, 2013, Battier scored 11 points and 4-9 from the field. In the Heat’s 25-point comeback Wednesday, Battier finished with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting. This season is the second time in his NBA career that Battier has been a part of a team with at least a 22 game winning streak, as the Houston Rockets accomplished the feat in the 2007-08 season. Battier ranks ninth in the league with a .432 three-point shooting percentage for the year. 

Elton Brand 
Forward - Dallas Mavericks
Drafted: 1st Round (1st pick) by the Chicago Bulls (1999)
2012-13 Stats: 64 games, 7.6 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 1.0 APG, 0.7 SPG, 1.3 BPG

Brand recorded his eighth double-double of the season in a 100-77 win over Minnesota, scoring 10 points and grabbing 12 boards. Brand continues to shine this season, as he ranks in the top-25 of the league in blocked shots.

Carlos Boozer 
Forward - Chicago Bulls
Drafted: 2nd Round (35th pick) by the Cleveland Cavaliers (2002)
2012-13 Stats: 64 games, 15.6 PPG, 9.2 RPG, 2.1 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.4 BPG

Boozer has enjoyed a solid month of March for the Bulls, as he has scored in double figures in 7-of-8 games he has played. Boozer has scored 20+ points in four games for the month, including 22 points in a 89-88 win over the Utah Jazz. He also recorded a double-double in the game, as he finished with 10 boards, while the next night Boozer finished with his second double-double in two games, as he had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Boozer continues to rank in the top-10 in the NBA with 31 double-doubles on the season, while he ranks second on the Bulls in scoring.  

Luol Deng 
Forward - Chicago Bulls
Drafted: 1st Round (7th pick) by the Phoenix Suns (2004)
2012-13 Stats: 62 games, 16.1 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 2.9 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.4 BPG

Chicago’s leading scorer this season, Deng has continues to have success for the Bulls. Deng has scored in double figures in 7-of-8 games this season, including 20+ in each of his past two games. He scored 23 points in a 113-95 win over the Warriors. In a narrow 119-118 double overtime loss against the Nuggets, Deng, who leads the NBA this season in minutes played, was on the court for a season-high 50 minutes in the loss, scoring 21 points in the game. Deng ranks in the top-40 in the NBA in points scored for the season with 16.3 points per game.

Chris Duhon 
Guard - Los Angeles Lakers
Drafted: 2nd Round (38th pick) by the Chicago Bulls (2004)
2012-13 Stats: 44 games, 3.0 PPG, 1.5 RPG, 3.0 APG, 0.4 SPG, 0.0 BPG

Now in his ninth season in the league, Duhon continues to play without turning the ball over in his limited playing time, as he has only recorded two turnovers in the past five games played. Duhon has not appeared in a game for the Lakers since he played against the Suns on March 18.

Mike Dunleavy 
Forward - Milwaukee Bucks
Drafted: 1st Round (3rd pick) by the Golden State Warriors (2002)
2012-13 Stats: 60 games, 10.7 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 1.9 APG, 0.6 SPG, 0.5 BPG

Dunleavy continues to be one of the Bucks top offensive threats, despite coming off the bench in 57-of-60 games he has played this season. He has started for the Bucks in three games over the past two weeks.  In a 115-108 loss against the Mavericks, Dunleavy scored 18 points. Dunleavy ranks eighth in the NBA in three-point shooting percentage, as he is shooting 43-percent from beyond the arc on the year.

Gerald Henderson
Guard - Charlotte Bobcats
Drafted: 1st Round (12th pick) by the Charlotte Bobcats (2009)
2012-13 Stats: 54 games, 14.4 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 2.4 APG, 0.9 SPG, 0.5 BPG

Henderson has continued his terrific play in the month of March, as the third-year pro has scored in double figures in 10-of-11 games for the month of March, while scoring 20+in 5-of-7 games for the month. A native of Merion, Pa., Henderson scored a career-high 35 points to lead the Bobcats past the Celtics, 100-74, March 12. In the game, Henderson was 11-of-19 from the field, while going 12-of-12 from the free throw line. In a more recent game on March 18, Henderson poured in 27 points to lead Charlotte past the Wizards, 119-114. In the game, Henderson tied his career-high of eight assists. Henderson is second on the Bobcats this season in scoring, averaging 14.4 points per game.

Grant Hill 
Forward - Los Angeles Clippers
Drafted: 1st Round (3rd pick) by the Detroit Pistons (1994)
2012-13 Stats: 25 games, 3.4 PPG, 1.8 RPG, 1.0 APG, 0.4 SPG, 0.2 BPG

Hill’s minutes on the floor have been increasing since he returned to the Clippers lineup Jan. 12. He scored five points in a 129-97 win over the Bobcats on March 10, while playing 21 minutes in the contest. The Clippers are currently in fourth place in the Western Conference with a 47-22 overall record.

Kyrie Irving 
Guard - Cleveland Cavaliers
Drafted: 1st Round (1st pick) by the Cleveland Cavaliers (2011)
2012-13 Stats: 49 games, 23.0 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 5.7 APG, 1.6 SPG, 0.4 BPG

Irving was enjoying a solid start to his month of March, but has been out of the Cavaliers lineup since March 10. He has a shoulder contusion and is expected to be out of the Cleveland lineup for 7-to-10 weeks. He ranks 17th in three-point field goal percentage and is in the top-30 in the league in scoring this season.

Dahntay Jones 
Guard/Forward – Atlanta Hawks
Drafted: 1st Round (20th pick) by the Boston Celtics (2003)
2012-13 Stats: 65 games, 3.2 PPG, 1.2 RPG, 0.6 APG, 0.2 SPG, 0.1 BPG

Jones had his best game as an Atlanta Hawk, as he scored 13 points in a 105-93 win over Brooklyn. In the game, Jones finished 6-of-7 in 24 minutes of playing time. The game marked Jones season-high for the season.  

Corey Maggette
Forward - Detroit Pistons
Drafted: 1st Round (13th pick) by the Seattle SuperSonics (1999)
2012-13 Stats: 18 games, 5.3 PPG, 1.4 RPG, 1.1 APG, 0.3 SPG, 0.1 BPG

After being acquired by the Detroit Pistons over the summer, has appeared in 18 games this season coming off the bench. He has scored in double figures in two contests, with his season-high 11 points coming in a 103-83 Pistons win over the Celtics.  He has not played since Dec. 15 against the Pacers.

Josh McRoberts
Forward – Charlotte Bobcats
Drafted: 2nd Round (37th pick) by the Portland Trail Blazers (2007)
2012-13 Stats: 54 games, 4.9 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 1.8 APG, 0.4 SPG, 0.4 BPG

Since being acquired by the Charlotte Bobcats at the NBA trade deadline, McRoberts has made a tremendous impact. He has recorded double-doubles in two games for Charlotte this season, including a season-high 17 points in a win over the Wizards. Overall, the big man has scored in double figures in four of his last five games, including his previous two.

Miles Plumlee
Forward - Indiana Pacers
Drafted: 1st Round (26th pick) by the Indiana Pacers (2012)
2012-13 NBA Stats: 11 games, 0.6 PPG, 1.5 RPG, 0.2 APG, 0.0 SPG, 0.2 BPG
2012-13 D-League Stats: 15 games, 11.2 PPG, 10.2 RPG, 1.2 APG, 0.8 SPG, 1.9 BPG

Plumlee has bounced back and forth between the D-League and the NBA throughout the season. The rookie has played in two games in a row and scored one point in a Pacers win over Orlando on March 19.

Shavlik Randolph
Forward – Boston Celtics
2012-13 Stats: 3 games, 3.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 0.0 APG, 0.7 SPG, 0.0 BPG

Randolph has signed a contract through the end of the season with the Celtics and has played in three games so far for Boston. The big man last played in a game March 16, scoring a season-high six points and tallying eight boards in a win over the Bobcats.

J.J. Redick 
Guard – Milwaukee Bucks
Drafted: 1st Round (11th pick) by the Orlando Magic (2006)
2012-13 Stats: 63 games, 14.8 PPG, 2.2 RPG, 4.1 APG, 0.5 SPG, 0.1 BPG

Redick continues to play an important role for the Bucks, as he has scored in double figures in 8-of -10 games in the month of March. The shooting specialist tallied 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting, six assists and three rebounds in 30 minutes of playing time in a recent loss to the Hawks. Redick ranks in the top-50 of the league in points and three-point field goal percentage, while ranking in the top-40 in assists.  

Austin Rivers 
Guard - New Orleans Hornets
Drafted: 1st Round (10th pick) by the New Orleans Hornets (2012)
2012-13 Stats: 61 games, 6.2 PPG, 1.8 RPG, 2.1 APG, 0.4 SPG, 0.2 BPG

Rivers has not appeared in a game since March 6 and is currently out 4-6 weeks after breaking a bone in his shooting hand. Rivers ranks 18th among rookies in scoring this season.

Kyle Singler 
Forward - Detroit Pistons
Drafted: 2nd Round (33rd pick) by the Detroit Pistons (2011)
2012-13 Stats: 69 games, 8.8 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 1.0 APG, 0.7 SPG, 0.5 BPG

In just his rookie season, Singler has found a starting role for the Pistons for the majority of the year. He has started 61 of 69 games and has scored in double figures three times in the month of March. In a recent loss to the Warriors, Singler posted 17 points in an 105-97 loss on 8-of-16 shooting. Singler ranks eighth among rookies in scoring, averaging 8.8 points per contest.  

Nolan Smith 
Guard - Portland Trail Blazers
Drafted: 1st Round (21st pick) by the Portland Trail Blaizers (2011)
2012-13 Stats: 33 games, 2.8 PPG, 0.8 RPG, 0.9 APG, 0.2 SPG, 0.0 BPG
2012-13 D-League Stats: 2 games, 22.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 5.5 APG, 1.0 SPG, 0.0 BPG

Smith last played in a game Wednesday, but did not score in the contest. He has recorded a season-high 13 points in a game on Feb. 2 against the Jazz.

Lance Thomas 
Forward - New Orleans Hornets
2012-13 Stats: 56 games, 2.5 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 0.3 APG, 0.2 SPG, 0.1 BPG

In his second season with the Hornets, Thomas has seen playing time in 56 contests, while starting nine games. Thomas scored a season-high 12 points in a 108-98 loss to the Nets. In the game, the forward was perfect from the field, as he finished 4-of-4 in 18 minutes of playing time.
