DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men’s golf team, No. 8 in the latest Golfweek / Sagarin Rankings, looks to continue its outstanding season May 16-18 at the NCAA Tempe Regional at the ASU Karsten Golf Course. Fourteen teams and five individuals make up the field including four conference champions (Duke, Austin Peay, New Mexico State & Lehigh) and foue teams ranking in the top 25 of the Golf World / Nike Golf Coaches Poll (No. 4 UCLA, No. 10 Duke, No. 16 Georgia & No. 20 Texas A&M). The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals, which will be held May 28-June 2, at the Capital City Club Crabapple Course in Atlanta, Ga.

Duke, the No. 2 seed in the Tempe Regional, opens play Thursday at 10 am (ET) and will be paired with top-seed UCLA and third-seeded Georgia. The ASU Karsten Golf Course is set to play as a 7,030 yard, par 70 layout for the event.

Head coach Jamie Green, in his fifth season at Duke, is sending a lineup featuring seniors Brinson Paolini, Adam Sumrall and Julian Suri as well as junior Austin Cody and freshman Mads Soegaard. That Duke lineup has produced tournament victories at the ACC Championship and Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate as well as a runner-up finish at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational.

Duke, winners of a school record five tournament this season, is coming off an impressive showing at the 2013 ACC Championship. The Blue Devils set a school record with a 25-under 839 en route to its seventh league title and its first since 2005. Suri fired a six-under 66 in the second round as Duke matched a school record with a 15-under 273. All five Blue Devils finished under-par at the ACC Championship with Sumrall leading the way with an eight-under 208. Sumrall finished fifth overall, while Paolini and Suri were tied for seventh at five-under (211).
