DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University sophomore women’s tennis standout Beatrice Capra won her first two matches at the Ascension Project Women’s Challenger in Redding, Calif., to advance to the singles main draw.  The tournament is a USTA Pro Circuit Event Presented by Cresswell Physical Therapy and hosted by Sun Oaks Tennis & Fitness.

Capra downed ninth-seeded Elizabeth Anita Alexandri Profit, 6-2, 6-3, to advance to the second round of qualifying where she upset ninth-seeded Emily Harman, 6-1, 6-2.  

The singles main draw will kick off on Tuesday with a draw sheet to be posted on Monday evening.
