Blue Devils No. 4 in Latest Golf World National Poll
DURHAM, N.C. – Coming off two top five finishes to open the season, the Duke women’s golf team was tabbed No. 4 in the Golf World/NGCA Division I Coaches poll that was released on Wednesday.
Holding onto the top slot was Southern California with 21 first place votes, while Alabama, Oklahoma, Duke, Florida, Oklahoma State, UCLA, Arkansas, Arizona State and Arizona rounding out the top 10. Closing out the top 25 ledger was Clemson, Stanford, Washington, N.C. State, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Tulane, South Carolina and California.
Duke posted a tied fourth finish at the Dale McNamara Fall Preview to open the season and was led by senior
Laetitia Beck with a tied eighth placement with rounds of 71, 67 and 72 for a three-day total of 210. As a team, Duke held the 36-hole lead with one round remaining at the fall preview. Yu Liu registered a team-best tied ninth ledger with rounds of 73, 73 and 71 for a 54-hole total of 217.
Duke will next compete in the Tar Heel Invitational Oct. 11-13 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
