DURHAM, N.C. -- Recently, sat down with senior Grace Christus to learn more about the Bernardsville, N.J., native. Name your three favorite things about being a student-athlete at Duke.
Grace Christus: Being part of a team that represents Duke and being able to wear the Duke jersey is pretty special. Being able to go to other team’s games and cheer on other Duke sports teams is fun. The automatic respect from people that don’t go to Duke, or other athletes that go to other schools because they know the level of excellence that’s expected from Duke athletics, is also special. What is your favorite competition-related memory?
GC: My favorite on the field memory is my sophomore year when we were in the second round of the ACC tournament and we were playing Maryland. They hadn’t been defeated at home in a long time. I think they were the reigning ACC Champions, and we beat them and scored late in the second half. What is your favorite memory away from competition?
GC: A good memory was the UNC-Duke football game. Just being in the stands when everyone stormed the field was pretty crazy. Name three foods that you can’t live without?
GC: Pretzels, watermelon and steak. Describe yourself in three words?
GC: Competitive, dedicated and hard-working. Name three places you would travel to if you could.
GC: Morocco, Thailand and Brazil.
