DURHAM, N.C. -- Recently, sat down with senior Brandon Braxton to learn more about the Charlotte, N.C., native. Name your three favorite things about being a student-athlete at Duke.
Brandon Braxton: Being a student here is cool because there are a lot of opportunities to take really interesting classes. Being an athlete here is great. I’ve never had so many friends. I love all the guys I play with and they’re all great guys. Just even thinking about graduating and coming back here and seeing all those guys someday, it’s going to be super fun to see where everybody ends up and how everybody’s doing. What is your favorite ‘on the field’ memory?
BB: Beating UNC. I was standing out there on defense and everybody rushed the field. I just stood there and looked up at the stands and watched everybody come down. My dad found me and one of my teachers found me. I took a picture with her. Just being out there for that was unbelievable. What is your favorite ‘off the field’ memory?
BB: Just hanging out with Braxton [Deaver] and [Anthony] Boone. Those are my roommates. Whenever we’re together it’s like we’re brothers and it’s always fun to be with them. I’m really happy that we all came to the same school and we’re all rooming together. Name three foods you can’t live without.
BB: My mom’s homemade dark chocolate brownies, my grandma’s cheesy potatoes and my dad’s sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving. What are three things you would like to do in the next 10 years?
BB: Skydiving, I want to go out of the country somewhere and go on a cruise. Describe yourself in three words.
BB: Fun, not serious and hardworking. What are three things you would do on a day off?
BB: Play Halo, watch Netflix and lay in my bed.
