DURHAM, N.C. – For the second time this season, Duke University senior Chelsea Gray has been selected ACC Player of the Week by a vote of the Blue Ribbon Panel.  Gray guided the second-ranked Blue Devils (5-0) to victories over Vanderbilt and Marquette this past week.

Against two quality opponents that combined for a 7-1 record entering the game against Duke this week, Gray missed two triple-doubles by only three rebounds as she averaged 13.0 points, 12.5 assists, 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals.  Versus Vanderbilt, who was receiving votes in the AP top 25, Gray had 14 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds.

A product of Manteca, Calif., Gray closed the weekend with 13 assists, 12 points and nine rebounds on the road at Marquette.  It marked the first time in her career she has notched back-to-back double-doubles and was the eighth and ninth times Gray has collected double-figure assist games.  The 13 and 12 assists by Gray were the two highest single-game totals in the league this year.

Gray is averaging 13.2 points, 9.4 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 3.6 steals on the season.  Her 9.4 assists per game currently leads the ACC, while ranking tied for first with a 3.6 steals per game average.

Over her career, Gray has been named ACC Player of the Week a total of five times.  North Carolina’s Stephanie Mavunga was selected the ACC Rookie of the Week.

Duke will head to St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands (USVI) this week to compete in the Paradise Jam from Nov. 28-30.  The Blue Devils will play three games over three days starting off with Xavier on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 1:15 p.m. (EST).
