DURHAM, N.C. – After claiming the Paradise Jam Island Division title over the Thanksgiving holiday, the second-ranked Duke women’s basketball team (8-0) returns home to host 16th-ranked Purdue (5-1) in the BIG Ten/ACC Challenge Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m., in Cameron Indoor Stadium. 

The contest will be aired live on the Blue Devil Network via www.GoDuke.com.  It will also be carried live on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network on WDNC-AM 620 with Steve Barnes (PXP) and Morgan Patrick (Color) on the air.

During the Purdue game, the Duke Marketing team will hold a Basketball Bingo competition in which fans will be able to win prizes by checking off boxes when they happen on the court.  The bingo table will be located in the Hall of Honor.

A Look at Purdue…
Purdue enters the contest with a 5-1 overall record with the lone loss coming to Stanford on Nov. 26.  On the season, the Boilermakers have been led by Courtney Moses (13.7 points, 13 treys), KK Houser (13.7 points, 2.3 rebounds) and Whitney Bays (10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds).

Duke Versus the Big Ten…
Duke owns an all-time record of 21-9 against teams from the Big Ten -- Illinois (0-3), Iowa (1-0), Michigan (4-0), Michigan State (2-1), Minnesota (0-1), Nebraska (1-0), Ohio State (1-0), Penn State (5-1), Purdue (5-3) and Wisconsin (2-0). 

Head coach Joanne P. McCallie owns an all-time record of 83-56 versus the Big Ten -- Illinois (9-7), Indiana (8-4), Iowa (9-6), Michigan (11-2), Michigan State (0-1), Minnesota (11-2), Northwestern (10-1), Ohio State (7-10), Penn State (4-11), Purdue (5-8) and Wisconsin (9-4).

Last Time We Met…
Haley Peters scored 14 points to help the seventh-ranked Blue Devils beat No. 13 Purdue 64-53 on Dec. 1, 2011 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Duke, which shot 37 percent from the field (26 for 70) and had a 50-32 rebounding edge.

Chloe Wells added 13 points and Chelsea Gray had 11 points for the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils finished with a 24-9 advantage in offensive rebounds, leading to a 14-5 edge in second-chance points.
