DURHAM -- As Duke prepares for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl on New Year's Eve against Johnny Manziel and the Texas A&M Aggies, the Blue Devil Network is taking a look back at the best plays from Duke's historic 2013 football season.
Each day leading up to the game, check back with GoDuke.com for another one of the moments that helped Duke to the first 10-win season in program history, and the school's first ACC Coastal Division championship.
Play number three highlights two of the most important plays of the 2013 campaign - a pair of touchdowns that were earned on special teams by redshirt freshman safety DeVon Edwards.
A lightly-recruited player out of high school, Edwards has used the 2013 season to prove that he shouldn't be judged on his lack of prototypical size.
After two kickoff returns for scores that covered a total of 199 yards, Edwards heads into the Chick-Fil-A Bowl against Texas A&M ranked second nationally in kickoff return average. His efforts have earned him a number of All-America awards, including placement on the Sporting News and Phil Steele Freshman All-America First Teams.
