DURHAM, N.C. – Former Blue Devils remain consistent in overseas play this season, with a number leading their respective teams in scoring and rebounds. Mistie Bass scored double-digit points in all 13 games this season for Lyon in France, while Monique Currie averages over 20 points a game and leads the KB Stars in South Korea in both scoring and rebounding.

Alana Beard
Shinhan Bank S-Birds – South Korea
2013-14 South Korean League Stats: 17 games, 8.4 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 0.8 APG, 1.4 SPG, 0.5 BPG

Beard continues to contribute for the Shinhan Bank S-Birds in South Korea. The small forward netted a season-high 24 points in 21 minutes of action against Winnus Dec. 30. Beard shot 11-of-18 from the floor, her most efficient game of the season. Beard is averaging 18 points per game in her last two games.  

Monique Currie
KB Stars – South Korea
2013-14 South Korean League Stats: 18 games, 21.5 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 1.4 APG, 2.1 SPG, 0.8 BPG

Currie is thriving in her role as KB Stars’ starting forward, leading the team in scoring and rebounds. In the WKBL All-Star game on Sunday, Jan. 5, Currie totaled a game-high 28 points and earned MVP accolades.  Currie is averaging 23.4 points per game over her last seven games, while also recording three double-doubles over the seven-game stretch. In the KB Stars’ most recent game against Bichumi, Currie tied a season high with 13 rebounds and added 21 points, leading to her fourth double-double of the season.

Jessica Foley
Adelaide Lightning – Australia
2013-14 Stats: 15 games, 12.9 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 2.5 APG, 1.3 SPG, 0.7 BPG

Foley led the Adelaide Lightning in scoring with 18 points Dec. 22, facing her former team the Townsville Fire. The guard shot 4-of-6 from beyond the three-point line in the Adelaide Lightning loss. Foley netted double-digit points in all but two games this season and ranks second among her teammates in points per game and rebounds per game.

Kathleen Scheer
Sydney UF – Australia
2013-14 Stats: 15 games, 8.9 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 0.9 APG, 0.3 SPG, 0.6 BPG

Scheer scored 11 points while also collecting five offensive rebounds in Sydney UF’s most recent contest against the Logan Thunder. Over the last three games, Scheer netted seven, four and 11 points, respectively, shooting a combined 9-of-14 from the field.

Karima Christmas
Maccabi Ramat Hen – Israel
2013-14 Stats: 11 games, 20.1 PPG, 13.3 RPG, 3.1 APG, 2.0 SPG, 0.8 BPG
Christmas posted impressive numbers in her three most recent starts for Maccabi Ramat Hen, with two double-doubles. Christmas scored a season-high 21 points Dec. 26 against Bnot Hertzeliya. Christmas recorded double-digit rebounds in seven of her 11 games this season, leading the team in both rebounds per game and points per game. Christmas’ 3.1 assists per game ranks her third among her teammates.

Thomas matched a season-high 12 points Dec. 14, shooting 6-of-8 from the floor and adding a season-high five blocked shots. Thomas’ 1.3 blocks per game ranks her second among teammates. Thomas’ Perfumerias remain atop the Ligue Feminine de Basket standings with a 9-2 record.

Chante Black
Umbertide – Italy
2013-14 Stats: 10 games, 12.4 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 0.7 APG, 0.6 SPG, 1.4 BPG

Black, who averages a double-double through 10 games for Umbertide, recorded her sixth of the season against San Martino Dec. 22 after scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Black shot a perfect 7-of-7 from the field in the game, improving her shooting percentage to 55.8% on the year. The center saw her highest scoring game of the season two games earlier against Raguas, netting 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting.

Mistie Bass

2013-14 Stats: 13 games, 15.2 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 0.8 APG, 1.9 SPG, 0.2 BPG

Mims’ double-digit scoring streak continues for Lyon, as the center has scored 11 or more points in all 13 of her appearances. Mims earned her second double-double of the season Dec. 21 against Charleville, scoring 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting and collecting 12 rebounds.
