DURHAM, N.C.— Duke University redshirt sophomore Conner Hartmann was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week following a 3-0 week for the Blue Devils, including a win over the nation’s ninth-ranked wrestler at 197 pounds.

Hartmann picked up three wins in a trio of matches for the Blue Devils last week to improve to 15-7 overall and climb back into the Amateur Wrestling News rankings at No. 19. The Port Orchard, Wash., native started the week by keying Duke’s dominant 38-9 victory over VMI with a pin of Andrew Embree in 6:30.

Three days later Hartmann picked up a major decision against Jeff McElwee in a narrow setback for the Blue Devils against Rider. Hours later in a rematch from the Southern Scuffle, the 197-pounder outlasted No. 9 Brandon Palik of Drexel 7-4 in triple overtime to post his second ranked win of the year.

Hartmann and the Blue Devils are back in action Wednesday night against Gardner-Webb at 7 pm. Duke resumes its ACC schedule at Maryland Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.

Both matches will be streamed live on goduke.com and umterps.com, respectively.
