DURHAM, N.C. -- The Duke men’s track and field team sends four competitors to the 107th running of the Millrose Games in New York, N.Y., Saturday. The Blue Devils, competing in the Byron Dyce College Men’s 4x800 Saturday at 2:32 p.m., are set to face the University of Pennsylvania, Villanova, Albany, Monmouth, Manhattan and Adelphi.

The foursome of freshmen Alec Kunzweiler and Dylan Murphy, junior Nate McClafferty and sophomore Michal Filipczak marks the first men’s 4x800 of the season to compete for Duke. Two of the four relay members, including McClafferty and Filipczak, teamed with sophomore Tommy Meister last year at the Millrose Games and clocked a school record 4x800 meter time of 7:26.88. The relay placed second overall at the meet.

The individuals comprising the 4x800 Saturday have excelled in open events this season. Filipczak broke the school record in the open 800 last weekend at the Armory Collegiate Invitational, running a time of 1:50.24, while McClafferty, also competing at the Armory Collegiate Invitational, remained undefeated in the mile after posting a season-best time of 4:09.26. Kunzweiler, competing in the first mile of his collegiate career, placed third at the Virginia Tech Invitational Jan. 17, clocking a personal-best time of 4:10.61.

Track events begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon with the women’s distance medley relay.
