Location Change

Saturday’s game has been moved to the Duke turf practice field on Frank Bassett Drive due to the weather. For safety concerns fans planning to attend will have to watch from behind the fence in the parking lot or from the grass field adjacent to the turf field.

Winter Storm Impacts ESPN3 Coverage

Due to the winter storm, ESPN3 will no longer be able to broadcast the game. The Blue Devil Network will stream the game live on GoDuke.com with a subscription to BDN+. The game also will be available at DenverPioneers.com. Please be aware that audio of the game will not be available due to limited capabilities at the turf practice field venue so it will just be a live video feed of the contest.

Scouting Denver
Denver opened its 2014 season with a 14-8 win over Air Force ... Junior Wesley Berg led the offensive charge with five goals, while Jack Bobzien had four goals and two assists ... Much like the Blue Devils, the Pioneers got off to a slow start, trailing 3-1 in the first quarter before stringing together seven of the next nine goals for an 8-5 halftime lead ... The Falcons won the faceoff battle with 16-of-25 draws won and picked up 25 ground balls to the Pioneers’ 24 ... In goal, Jamie Faus and Ryan LaPlante combined for 11 saves with Faus playing three of the four quarters.

Duke fell behind 3-0 to Jacksonville in the season opener before rattling off seven straight to take the 16-10 win over the Dolphins ... Josh Dionne led the way with five tallies, while Jordan Wolf had six points overall ... Chad Cohan, in his first career start, netted two goals and three assists and junior Kyle Keenan registered a career-high four points (2g, 2a) ... Redshirt senior Casey Carroll made his debut for the Blue Devils with five ground balls and three caused turnovers to earn ACC Player of the Week honors, while Jamie Ikeda notched his first career start with two ground balls and three caused turnovers ... In goal, junior Kyle Turri made two saves in 53 minutes of action ... Duke won the ground ball battle 46-25 and Brendan Fowler was outstanding at the X at 18-of-28 and a career-high 16 ground balls.

Carroll Returns with Award Winning Performance
Redshirt senior Casey Carroll returned to the field for Duke with a bang ... Playing in his first game in 2,447 days, Carroll caused three turnovers and picked up five ground balls to help lead Duke to the 16-10 win over Jacksonville and earn him the ACC Defensive Player of the Week honor ... First donning the Blue Devil jersey Feb. 28, 2004, Carroll competed for the Blue Devils for three seasons - he suffered a knee injury ending his season in 2006 ... Upon graduation in 2007, Carroll elected to serve his country ... He served in the 3rd BN 75th Ranger Regiment of the US Army from 2007-12 and suffered a torn ACL in 2013 ... He is enrolled in Duke’s Fuqua School of Business Master of Business Administration program ... Carroll is married to former Duke women’s soccer player Erin Hathorn ... The couple has two sons, Casey and John.
Opponent Scoring Droughts
Jacksonville jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening 6:22 this past Saturday, but it was all Blue Devils over the next 21:25 as Duke took a 7-5 lead into halftime.





Wolf Riding Point Scoring Streak
With six points in the season opener, Wolf extended his nation’s-best point scoring streak to 42 games  ... In the past 42 games, the Wynnewood, Pa., native has 91 goals, 65 assists for 156 points ... He has been held without a point in just five games in his career and Duke is 1-4 in those contests ... Wolf was last held scoreless in the 2011 NCAA semifinal against Maryland - May 28, 2011.

Wolf Climbing Career Points & Goals Lists
Wolf continues to move up the Duke career points list after his six-point outing against Jacksonville ... His 207 points - 122 goals and 85 assists - rank ninth in Duke history ... He is 29 points shy of moving into the top five with the likes of recent stars Matt Danowski, Zack Greer, Max Quinzani and Ned Crotty ... The senior captain needs two more points to move into the top 20 in the ACC career points record book and is three goals shy of tying Duke’s T.J. Durnan for ninth in Duke history and 20th in ACC history.
Wolf Aiming To Join 100 & 100 Club
Wolf joined the small fraternity of Duke players to have scored 100 career goals in 2013 and is 15 assists shy of becoming just the fourth player in Duke lacrosse history to compile 100 career goals and 100 career assists ... He has had at least 20 assists in all three seasons, including a career-high 33 in 2012.

Fowler Picks Up Where He Left Off
After setting the NCAA single-season record for faceoff victories in 2013, senior faceoff specialist Brendan Fowler picked up where he left off for the Blue Devils ... Fowler, after losing the first two draws to the Dolphins, won six straight and eight of the next 11 to help Duke to overcome a 3-0 deficit for a 7-5 lead at halftime ... In addition, the Wantagh, N.Y., native picked up a career-high 16 ground balls to go with his 18 faceoff victories.
