DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men’s tennis team will boast four players ranked nationally in singles as well as one ranked doubles tandem when it returns to action Thursday, Feb. 27 against Coastal Carolina.

The Blue Devils (5-3), listed 17th in Tuesday’s ITA Division I team poll, have been on hiatus since recording a 7-0 sweep of Michigan in their last outing Feb. 9. The squad qualified for the 2014 ITA National Team Indoor Championships but was forced to withdraw from the tournament when severe winter weather impacted the Triangle area, interrupting travel plans.

Duke is one of five ACC institutions ranked inside the top 20 nationally, with Notre Dame leading the way at No. 6. Virginia is ranked No. 10, followed by No. 12 North Carolina, No. 17 Duke and No. 19 Wake Forest. Tuesday’s team rankings are the first computerized rankings of the season and are based on a computer point-per-match formula.

Sophomore Michael Redlicki headlines the four nationally-ranked singles players on the squad, coming in at No. 37. Redlicki is 11-5 overall on the season with a 2-1 record from the No. 1 singles position. Junior Jason Tahir, who is 4-0 since moving to the No. 3 spot in the lineup, is ranked 40th, while senior Fred Saba is 58th and sophomore Bruno Semenzato is tied for 94th. Saba has tallied a 4-2 ledger at the No. 2 spot in singles while Semenzato has gone 3-1 on court four.

The team’s lineup also features a ranked doubles pair for the first time this season as Redlicki and Tahir combine to form the nation’s 33rd-ranked duo. The Duke tandem is 5-3 overall and 2-2 in dual match action heading into this week’s contest against the Chanticleers.

Opening serve is set for 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Ambler Tennis Stadium. Live scoring will be available for the match.
