LANCASTER, Pa. – Former Duke standout Stefanie Fee and the U.S. women’s national field hockey team closed out a four-game series against the Canadian national team with a win, earning a 3-0 victory Friday evening at Spooky Nook Sports’ Dome Complex.
With the score knotted 0-0 at the half, Team USA struck first in the 61st minute and added two more tallies before the end of regulation.
The U.S. also topped Team Canada in the three other matches held in Lancaster this week to make a strong statement heading into the 2014 Women’s Hockey Champions Challenge next month in Glasgow, Scotland and the 2014 Women’s Hockey World Cup in late May.
A 2012 graduate of Duke, Fee started every game for the Blue Devils during her four seasons in Durham. The standout defender garnered All-America, All-ACC and All-ACC Tournament accolades her senior year, in addition to being named to the Longstreth/NFHCA All-South Region first team.
