DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University sophomore women’s golfer Celine Boutier was awarded Ronald McDonald Charities Duke Student-Athlete of the Week honors Wednesday after capturing the PING/ASU Invitational individual title over the weekend in Tempe, Ariz.

A native of Montrouge, France, Boutier carded rounds of 69, 69 and 70 on her way to finishing with a career-best eight-under-par, 208 to win medalist honors by one stroke over Arizona State’s Noemi Jimenez.  Boutier carded a birdie on the 370-yard, par four 18th hole Sunday to secure her second straight tournament victory and help Duke finish tied for second in a loaded field at the event.

She led the tournament in par four scoring at six-under, while placing second overall with 13 birdies in the event.  Boutier is currently ranked No. 8 nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.

Duke will next compete in the ACC Championship from April 17-19 at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
